Objectives of the Test Flight

The primary aim of TV-D1 is to test the Crew Escape System’s capability to instantly separate the Crew Module and astronauts to safety in the event of a launch failure or abort situation. This will be simulated at high speed of Mach 1.2 during the ascent. Other objectives include:
